Senior politician and current Chief Minister of Karnataka state Siddaramaiah was born in 1947 in Siddaramana Hudi town of Mysore state of British India (Now in Karnataka state after Independence). He completed his schooling from government schools and moved to Mysore College to complete his Law Degree. He was incidentally moved in his political career when his lawyer colleague suggested he contest in local body election while he was practicing law at Mysore court.

In his political journey, Siddaramaiah first contested from the Chamundeshwari constituency as the candidate of Bharatiya Lok Dal in 1983. After winning his first assembly election he frequently contested in the state assembly elections till the 2023 assembly elections. In his political career, he contested 13 assembly elections and lost only 4 out of them. He has served in many portfolios in the Karnataka State government before taking oath as the Chief Minister of the state in 2018.

Shri Siddaramaiah started his political career with Bharatiya Lok Dal and later he moved to the Janata Party which was the ruling party in the state. He joined the Indian National Congress Party in 2006. In his political career, he won 9 out of 13 state assembly elections till the 2023 assembly election. His political portfolio is known as the honest and down-to-ground politician of the state. He was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister in the Janata Dal government twice in 1999 and 2003. Siddaramaiah is living in CM’s house in Bengaluru city with his wife and children.

He once stated himself as an atheist but later on, he cleared his stance and stated that he was not an atheist, but he condemned the superstition of religion and said he scientifically better understood every point in life. As per the official reports, more than 20 lakh followers attended the event called “Siddaramotsava”.
