Vishnudeo Sai, Politician and 4th Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh state was born in 1964 in Bagiya Village of Jashpur District of Chhattisgarh. He was brought up in the tribal area of the state and finished his schooling from. His family belongs to agriculture and he is an agriculturist by profession. Vishnudeo Sai is the first tribal chief minister of any state of India.

He indulges in politics by the inspiration of his uncles Kedarnath Sai and Narhari Prasad Sai. Both were active in the state and central politics of the Madhya Pradesh state before the separation of the state. Vishnudeo started his politics as a farmer in local body elections of his Gram Panchayat. He was elected as the Panch of the Panchayat of his village. During his local election, he came in contact with the senior BJP leader of the state Dilip Singh Judeo. Soon Vishnudeo Sai joined the BJP and started social service in his district with the help of Dilip Singh Judeo. He first contested from Tapkara Constituency in 1990.

Shri Vishnudeo Sai currently living in Raipur with his family. He was married to Kausalya Sai in 1991 and has 3 children in his family. His uncle was a member of the Jana Sangh party and was elected as a member of parliament in the 60s of the 20th century. Sai won the Tapkara assembly constituency twice as the candidate of the Bhartiya Janta Party. His career in national politics began in 1999 as the candidate of BJP from Raigarh Lok Sabha. He maintained his winning esteem from the Raigharh constituency by winning the seat of MP for four terms. Vishnudeo served as the union minister of state for the Ministry of Steel, Mines, & Labour.

Vishnudeo Sai’s father died when he was only 4 years old. His mother Kausalya Sai looks after bringing him up with his siblings. He left his education from 11th class and started helping his mother. After winning the majority in the 2023 assembly election he was sworn in as the 4th chief minister by the BJP high command. Vishnudeo has strong command over the voters of the state through his social and political understandings.
