Amritpal Singh, Politician, Businessman, and current member of the lower house of the parliament of India was born in a Punjabi family in Jallupur Khera village of the Punjab State in 1993. He was the youngest sibling of three children of the Tarsem Singh and Balwinder Kaur. Amritpal Sandhu completed his early schooling in his village and perused for the diploma in mechanical engineering from the government polytechnic Kapurthala town, although he dropped out in the last semester of the diploma. He moved to Dubai and started working in the transport business of his uncle.

His uncle was involved in the local body election of his village and served as the Sarpanch of his village panchayat for 10 years. After that, he moved to the UK in search of new opportunities. At a young age, Amritpal was inclined to the spirituality of the Sikh religion and started thinking about the concerns of the Sikh community in India. While he was in UAE, Amritpal Singh stayed in contact with the Punjabi spiritual community and some of the separatist individuals who demanded a separate Punjabi country. Sandhu came back to India and entered politics with the farmers protesting against New Farm Bills in 2019. He contested in the general election of 2024 as an independent candidate from the Khadoor Sahib constituency and became a member of the Parliament of India.

Singh Amritpal came in contact with Deep Sidhu while he participated in farmers’ protests and started following his ideology of separatism in Punjab.
