Chirag Paswan, Actor, Politician, and Member of Parliament was born in Hajipur in the family of a famous politician and former cabinet minister Ram Vilas Paswan of Bihar state in 1982. He completed his early education in his hometown and moved up to college to complete his engineering in computer science. Chirag was not interested in politics in his early young days, he dropped out of college in his third semester moved to Mumbai, and started acting as his career.

His political journey started in 2014 as the candidate of the Lok Janshakti Party from the Jamui Lok Sabha constituency. He won the contest after defeating his RJD counterpart by more than 80 thousand votes. Once again he contested the same seat in the general election of 2019. He served as the president of Lok Janshakti Party since 2019 and leader of Parliamentary member of LJP. In the 2024 general election of Lok Sabha, he introduced himself as the candidate of the Hajipur constituency. Chirag Paswan won the election and served as the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries.
