Hemant Soren, Politician and current Chief Minister of Jharkhand state of India was born in the family of Shibu Soren, former CM and founder president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in 1975 in Nemra, Bihar. Hemant Soren finished his schooling at Patna High School and enrolled in engineering but dropped the engineering study and joined politics with his father. Ranchi City became the permanent residence of the Soren family after the separation of the state from Bihar.
His father founded Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in 1960 with the demand of the separation of the Jharkhand region of the Bihar state as a state. He regularly kept his movement for a separate state from Bihar till 2001. Hemant Soren was also active with his father and the JMM party in campaigning for the Jharkhand State. Hemant Soren contested the first assembly election of the Jharkhand state in 2009 election and won the first election. He also served as a Member of the Upper House of the Parliament from 2006 to 2009.

He looks after his official work from the CM office where his PA and other assistants take care of every visitor and call Hemant Soren. Soren was alleged in the land scam in the Jharkhand state, Enforcement Directorate arrested him in 2024, just before the general and assembly elections in the state, Hemant resigned from the CM of Jharkhand. Although the Jharkhand High Court granted him bail in June 2024.
