Yusuf Pathan also known as Yusuf Khan Pathan, Indian former cricketer, and politician, serving as a member of parliament Lok Sabha from Baharampur constituency was born on 17 November 1928 in Vadodara City of Gujarat State in India. He is a member of the Trinamool Congress. He belongs to the Gujarat Pathan family and his elder brother Irfan Pathan is also an Indian cricketer. Yusuf Pathan studied at MES High School in Vadodara Gujarat. He was married to Afreen Pathan who is a Mumbai-based psycho therapist and both have two sons.
Pathan’s impressive performance in the 2007 Deodhar trophy and the interstate domestic 2020 competition in April 2017, opens the door for international cricket. He debuted in his international cricket match in ICC World T20 in which he performed against Pakistan in 2007. Irfan Pathan was an amazing right-handed batsman and right-arm-off-break bowler. In his outstanding performance in the IPL matches, Yusuf Pathan was selected for the Indian one-day team. Yusuf Faizan made his one-day international debut for India against Pakistan in Dhaka on 10 June 2008.Â

Cricketer Yusuf Pathan did not perform well in the initial matches but in the later matches, he showed his batting ability at the international level. On 7 December 2010, Pathan’s power-hitting helped India win a sensational 5-wicket win over Bangladesh. Pathan’s aggressive innings saw him score 123 off 96 balls and share an unbeaten partnership with Saurabh Tiwary to help India post a mammoth 316 with nine wickets in hand. He was named Man of the Match for the match. Pathan hit 7 fours and 8 sixes in his maiden ODI century to guide India to victory. Yusuf Pathan’s good performance helped the hosts take a 4-0 lead.
