Sanjay Kumar Jha, an Indian politician serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha representing the Bihar constituency, was born on 1 December 1967 in Araria Sangram village, under Jhanjharpur block in the Madhubani district of Bihar in India. Headed schooling from Araria Sangram village school and completed the master’s degree from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University in Education. He belongs to an agricultural family; his father’s name is Jibachh Jha and his mother’s name is Chandrika Devi. He married Enakshi Jha on 3 June. The couple have three children (one son and two daughters). 

He started his political journey in 2004. Sanjay Kumar serves as a member of the Bihar legislative council from 11 May 2006 to 1 March 2024. He is a prominent politician and national General secretary of Janata dal United serving three times as the Minister in the government of Bihar. Sanjay Jha serves as the cabinet Minister in the government of Bihar from 9 February 2021 to 18 January 2024 as the Minister of Water Resources and the Minister of Information & Public Relations. He is known as the closest and trusted leader of Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar.
