Mathukumilli Sribharat, an Indian Politician and educationist Serving as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha, was born on 29 July 1989. Shri Bharat holds a degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Class of 2010. He also completed an MBA/ MA degree from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, USA, Class of 2016. These academic experiences have profoundly influenced his approach to leadership and education. His father’s name is MSP Rama Rao and his mother’s name is Stimani Mathukumili.

Sribharat married Marhukamili Tejeswuni on 21 August 2013. They have one son. He is the grandson of M.V.V.S Murthi, who is the founder of GITAM. Mathukumilli Sribharat is the current president of GITAM, which is a renowned Private University. He also engages in community work. He serves on the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute board in Hyderabad and is an active member of TiE Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, Sribharat has promoted entrepreneurship as the former president of the Entrepreneurs Association of Andhra Pradesh and an advisor to various startups.

Shri Mathukumilli Sribharat is a member of the Telugu Desham party. In the 2019 Lok Sabha general election he contested the election from the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency for the first time. But lost the election, unfortunately. Again he contested the election in the 2024 Indian General Election and was elected as a Member of Parliament Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, he won the election by close to 5 lakh votes. Before joining GITAM, Mathukumilli Sribharat played a key role in setting up a 3.5 MW solar power plant and led his family’s solar power generation venture. He also played a key role in developing a hydro-energy power plant in Odisha.
