Abhishek Banerjee, an Indian politician and Member of All India Trinamool Congress, serves as a Member of Lok Sabha by representing the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha Constituency. He was born on 7th November 1978 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Abhishek belongs to a political background family and is the nephew of Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamta Banerjee. He was brought up in Kolkata and did his schooling at Nava Nalanda High School and M.P Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School in Kolkata. Later, he moved to Delhi and studied BBA and MBA in Human Resources and Marketing at the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM), New Delhi in 2009. 

He married Thai national Rujira on 24 February 2012. They have two children, one daughter and one son. His political journey began, after joining the All India Trinamool Congress in 2011. This was the time, when AITC came into power, ousted 34 years Communist Party of India from government. Abhishek Banerjee was selected as the national president of the All India Trinamool Youth Congress in 2011 and became the recognized Youth Icon of AITC. He is the Youth Icon of AITC and inspired the youth time by time.

In 2024, Abhishek Banerjee contested the Lok Sabha election on behalf of All India Trinamool Congress by representing the constituency of the Diamond Harbour and won by a significant margin defeating the nearest opponent from the communist Party of India. At the time, he was the youngest parliamentarian in the lower house. After this, in the 2014 general election, his popularity also increased in West Bengal. Abhishek Banerjee has also won the 2019 and 2024 general elections consecutively from the Diamond Harbour constituency. He had also arranged the MP Cup Football Tournament in his constituency to inspire the youth to engage in sports and physical activities.

On 1st September 2023 in the Mumbai Conventional of India Alliance, he was appointed as a member of the coordination committee of INDI Alliance. He was the West Bengal State President of All India Trinamool Youth Congress from 5 June 2015 to 5 June 2021. He is also serving as the General Secretary of the All India Trinamool Congress since 5 June 2021. Banerjee served as a member of the standing committee of commerce in 2014 he was also selected as a member of the consulting committee under the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs in 2014 and also served as a member of the railway convention committee from April 2015 to 2019. Currently, he serves as a member of the standing committee on external affairs in September 2019.
