Asaduddin Salahuddin Owaisi, a well-known politician and barrister, serving as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, was born on 13 May 1969 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. He belongs to a political family in Hyderabad. His grandfather Abdul Wahed Owaisi relaunched the political party Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen as All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on 18 September 1957. Asaduddin Owaisi’s father was a strong leader of Hyderabad and continuously won the Assembly Elections. His father was elected as the Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from the Hyderabad constituency in 1984 for the first time and continued winning the elections till 2004.

Owasi and his father have been winning the general partner elections from the Hyderabad Constituency for decades. He did his schooling at The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. Asaduddin Owaisi also attended St Mary’s Junior College, Hyderabad for higher education. Later, he completed his graduation in Bachelor of Arts from Nizam College (Osmania University) in Hyderabad. He also represented the South Zone inter-university U-25s cricket team as a fast bowler in the Vizzy Trophy in 1994 and later got selected for the South Zone University team. MP Asaduddin Owaisi studied Law at Lincoln’s Inn in London. He is a barrister by profession.

Shri Asaduddin Owaisi is continuously maintaining his father’s winning legacy from the Hyderabad seat in the General Lok Sabha elections. His family continuously won the General Election from Hyderabad in 1984. Owaisi contested his first election in the 2004 Lok Sabha General Election, in place of his father, due to bad health conditions. He won the election and became the Member of Parliament (Upper House). He has been serving as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha since 2004 continuously. Asaduddin Owaisi also served as a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1 December 1994 to 26 April 2004. Owaisi has been the Leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in Lok Sabha, since 29 September 2008. He is also the 3rd President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, appointed on 29 September 2008.
