Banwari Lal Verma also known as B.L. Verma, famous politician and Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha, was born on 7 August 1961 in Ujhani in Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Shri B.L. Verma Ji was brought up in the Hindu Brahmin Family of Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name was Shri Panna Lal Verma, and he was a farmer. Verma currently serves as the Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment and Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India.
He did his schooling at the village school and completed a B.A. from Agra University, Uttar Pradesh, and an M.A. at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He married to Shanti Devi Verma. They have three children. B.L. Verma started his political career as a party worker from Badaun. He has the in charge of state vice-president since 2018. He is considered a close- and former CM Kalyan Sing. Shri Banwari Lal Verma also holds the post of chairman of UP State Construction Development Corporation Limited which has the same status as of a Minister of State.

However, B.L. Verma created a strong image for himself in the party. On 26 November 2020, Verma was elected as the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. He also holds the position of Minister of State for Co-operation from 7 July 2021 – 9 June 2024. Banwari Lal Verma also served as the Minister of State for Development of the North Eastern Region from July 2021 to June 2024. Currently, he is serving as the Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment & Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution since 9 June 2024.
