Bhagwant Singh Mann, Actor, Social Worker, Comedian, Politician, and Chief Minister of Punjab State was born in Sangrur district of Punjab in 1973. He finished his schooling in Sunam City and joined Shaheed Udham Singh University of Punjab Government. Mann completed his b. Com degree and he was inclined towards comedy in his college years. He competed in the Punjab University comedy competition and won a gold medal for Shaheed Udham Singh College. Bhagwant Mann followed comedy as his career and his first album of comedy was with his Jagtar Jaggi.

Later, he joined politics in 2011 with the membership of the Peoples Party of Punjab. Bhagwant Mann contested in the Punjab State Assembly election 2012 from Lahera Constituency. He was elected as the MLA candidate for PPP.  Mann joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2014 and contested in the general election from the Sangrur constituency as the candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party. He won the election by defeating Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa with a margin of more than two lakh votes. Arvind Kejriwal and the party high command appointed as the convener of Punjab state.
