MK Stalin, a Politician and Chief Minister was born into the family of a Famous politician and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi in in 1953. He finished his early education and schooling form in Chennai. He joined politics while he was studying at the University of Madras. Stalin joined DMK Youth Wing and started participating in the rallies and other political event of the DMK party. Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin was later moved up to the committee of the party.
He was jailed for protesting against the Emergency imposed by the Indira Gandhi government in 1976. Stalin was imprisoned in the central jail of Madras where he was attacked and beaten by a group of people. His fellow was beaten to death while protecting Stalin. He was elected as the Mayor of Chennai City in 1996. Staling worked for the development of infrastructure of the Chennai City. MK Stalin is also known as the father of Chennai for his development in the city.

Stalin first time contested in the state assembly election in 1984 from the Thousand Lights constituency as the candidate of the DMK party. He contested in the assembly elections from the same constituency till the 2006 assembly election. M. K. Stalin lost the seat only two times in 1984 & 1991. 2011 Tamil Nadu assembly election he contested from Kolathur constituency and till now he continuously won the state assembly election from the same seat. He served as the minister and deputy chief minister before taking charge as the chief minister of the state. MK Stalin took oath as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu in 2021.
