Shri Murlidhar Mohol is a dynamic and senior Indian politician from Pune and currently serving as the Union Minister and a Member of Parliament representing Pune in the Lok Sabha, the lower house. Moreover, he has served as the General Secretary of the Maharashtra BJP. His early life began from the Mulshi taluka where he was born on 9 November 1974 but his family shifted to Pune and lived in Kothrud. He belongs to the wrestler’s background family and Mohol also participated in the wrestling during his school time.
He graduated from Ratnappa Kumbhar College of Commerce, which is connected to the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board in Pune, in March 1992 with his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC). Murlidhar Mohol then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Shahu College, which is connected to Shivaji University in Kolhapur, in October 1999. While studying in the college, Murlidhar has made up their mind to enter into the politics field.

He started his political career at the age of 12 when Murlidhar Mohol joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). But officially, he engaged in politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and becoming a chief of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) for Pune. Later, he was elected Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation in the Indian central government. From 2019 to March 2022, he has served as the Mayor of Pune. Recently, Murlidhar Mohol was appointed as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 Indian general election.
