A well-known Indian politician and social worker “Shri Om Birla” belongs to Rajasthan state. Currently, Birla has been serving as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha since 19 June 2019. He was also re-elected for a second term in June 2024. Om Birla has also served as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, from the Kota constituency in Rajasthan since 2014. His early life started in Rajasthan, he was born on 23 Nov 1962 in Kota, Rajasthan, and belongs to the Baniya Hindu family. For the qualification, he completed his master’s degree in commerce from Government Commerce College, Kota, and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer.

He was one of only two MPs to be named speaker twice and the first to be re-elected to the lower house in twenty years after holding the position of Speaker of the Lok Sabha in 2024. From 2003 until 2014, he served as a representative for the Kota South Assembly seat in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Om Birla belongs to the BJP, the Bhartiya Janata Party. As an NDA contender, he was victorious in the 2024 Lok Sabha Speaker Election. He has served as the Kota Lok Sabha constituency’s MP three times.

After completing his higher education, Om Birla decided to enter in political career. For the first time, he won the first assembly elections contesting from Kota South in 2003. After that, he contested in the next assembly elections, and he got a huge victory by defeating candidate Ram Kishan Verma by the margins of 25,000 votes. He represented the Kota constituency in Rajasthan he was also made a party affiliated with the Bhartiya Janta Party. Shri Om Birla has also held the position of President of the India Union Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and the Indian Parliamentary Group.
