Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav is a prevalent personality in Maharashtra Politics. Generally, he is an Indian politician who is currently serving the duty of Minister of State with Independent Charge, handling the Ministry of Ayush, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare since 2024. Apart from that, he is a very active member of the Shiv Sena party and has also been elected to the Lok Sabha from the Buldhana constituency in Maharashtra for four consecutive terms since 2009. His early life started in Mehkar, a town in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, India, where he was born on 25 November 1960. In his family, Ganpatrao Jadhav is the head of the family and Sindhutai Jadhav is a housewife. Prataprao belongs to the Maratha community and he has a strong agricultural background.

His education began at the Shri Shivaji College in Chikhli, Buldhana, Maharashtra, where he completed the degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in 1970. Then, Jadhav won his first election in 1995 for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Mehkar constituency. For maintaining his seat in the 1999 and 2004 state assembly elections, he has completed three consecutive terms as an MLA.

In the general election of 2014 to 2019, Jadhav secured consecutive victories and prepared himself for a prominent figure in Maharashtra politics.
