Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the opposition in the 18th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the parliament of India, and former President of the Indian National Congress party was born in 1970 in New Delhi in the Nehru-Gandhi political family. He was brought up in New Delhi and finished his schooling at Doon School, Dehradun. Rahul Gandhi finished his graduation from St. Stephen’s College and moved to Harvard University, London. While he was studying at Harvard School his father Rajeev Gandhi was assassinated in Chennai, India. Rahul shifted to Florida due to security reasons and completed graduation from Rollins College.
After completing his education Rahul Gandhi returned to India and started his technology outsourcing firm. He started his career as a politician with his mother Sonia Gandhi and contested from Amethi Lok Sabha Constituency in the general election of 2004. He served in various parliamentary committees as a member of parliament. Rahul Gandhi never became a member of the team of Manmohan Singh led congress government as a minister. He was heading the Indian National Congress party as the president.
