Shashikant Senthi, an Indian politician and farmer administrative officer, serving as a member of parliament from Thiruvallur Lok Sabha constituency, was born on 18 March 1979 in Chennai, Tnila Nadu, India. He belongs to a government-serving family. His father, Justice P. Shanmugam is a retired District Judge and his mother Mrs. Ambica Shanmugam is a retired Central Government officer. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli. Before joining the Administrative service, he worked at the Software Company called Polaris Inc. He married Sujatha on 12 November 2010. 

In 2009, Shashikant Senthi joined the Indian Administrative Services by securing the All India Rank 9th in UPSC. He served as the Assistant Commissioner in Bellamy District from 2009 to 2012. He also served for two terms as Chief Executive Officer of Shimoga Zilla Panchayat. He has served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Chitradurga District and later at Raichur District. Mr Shashikant Senthil was also appointed as the director in the Department of Mines and Zoology Government of Karnataka after some time he was appointed to the post of deputy commissioner of South Canara District. During his noun for managing communal conflicts and controlling the sand mafia in the South Canara District.

After completing his administration career he decided to dive into politics. Shri Sasikanth Senthil joined the Indian National Congress in November 2020 and campaigned for the party in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election. He was credited with the Congress party’s victory in this Legislative Assembly Election, during which he led the campaign against the BJP. Senthil contested the 2024 Lok Sabha Election and won by the Thiruvallur Lok Sabha Constituency. Now, he is serving as a Member of the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
