The political journey of Shruti Choudhary started in 2005 when her father died and she was elected by the Indian National Congress party to contest the 2009 Indian general election. She was representing the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency of the Lok Sabha. After that, she was also appointed as a member of Parliament in 2009-2014. Unfortunately, she lost the election to the Lok Sabha seat in 2014.

She contested and won the 15th Lok Sabha elections from the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency. Shruti Choudhary served as a member of the Lok Sabha committees for agriculture and women’s empowerment since 2009. As per the recent news, she and her mother Kiran Choudhry left the Congress party and joined the BJP on 19 June 2024. In the October 2024 Haryana assembly elections, Shruti Choudhry defeated the Congress candidate by 14257 votes to win the Tosham Assembly seat.
